Maybe what Sarah meant by the example of the sentence was a sentence expressed a question (by giving a question intonation) and it looks confusing because it was expressed by using a statement form.

To the question "Am I not important to you?", the answer could be:
" No!, you ARE"
" Yes, you are not"
"No, you are NOT"
"Yes, you are"
The block-letter words are used to put emphasize.
I think for positive reply, the 1st sentence is more apt and for negative reply 3rd one is more apt.
Thank you

Hi Ashu. It depends what you want your answer to be. If you want to say the person is not important to you then you could answer either 'yes' or 'no' and then clarify by saying 'you are not important to me'. And if you want to tell them that they are important to you then you could say either yes or no and then clarify with 'you are important to me'.

Hi Nelson. They're both correct, but normally we'd use the contraction, so'Isn't he rich?'

To form an interrogative negative question, may use this structure:

He isn't rich. --> negative

Isn't he rich? --> interrogative question

or should I use: Is he not rich? --> interrogative question

Which one is correct?

Thanks for helping me :)

Oh great question, Sophie. Both answers are possible with that meaning. Whichever answer you give (yes or no) will often require further explanation. Sometimes English isn't very clear!

“We have no carrots right?”
If I say “Yes,” does that mean we do not have carrots?
Or if I say “No,” does that mean we do not have carrots?

Hi Sara. I'm afraid I don't understand. 'They do not accept dogs' is a statement rather than a question, so both yes and no both seem like inappropriate responses.
